Think of tags as like a book index where you find words and which pages they are on, the same principle applies here. Although it's taken a stage further so it might not be the word, but the subject, so for example if you're looking for things to do with fractal gradients for example. A tag may bring back posts with gradient files, as well as posts that discuss gradients, or tutorials about them.

v2

Tweak Game IV – Entry Two

Usual thing, can only alter or add one variation. I altered the Julian to a Julian3Dx to give me more things to play with. Changed the affines position, and altered the weights a bit to give a more metallic look.

subflame11

subflame

The subflame_wf variation allows using a flame as part of another flame. This is useful for providing textures and filling in blank spaces. It is often possible to accomplish similar results using Xaos, but using subflames is often simpler.

linear16

linear

Although “linear” seems a strange name for a non-linear variation, it’s a really important one. The name makes sense in the context that it means not to use a non-linear variation, just the affine mappings that are part of every transform. When a new transform is created, it is assigned a variation of linear3D with an amount of 1, which just maps the input to the output without any change.

Tweak 2

Tweak Flame Game Two

Posted a flame as a starter that I did about a year ago, the idea to take the parameters, paste them into your JWildfire, and you can only change one variation. You can of course, alter other settings too, but one variation change only. Here’s another spherical added for more roundness.

Maurer MB 2

Maurer Lines Game Flame Two

Here’s another Maurer Lines flame, this time I had more time! I added a linked loonie2 and an onion (what does this sound like?!). Changed the number of draw lines also. Great variation this.

gaussian blur3

gaussian_blur

Carl Frederich Gauss was a preeminent early nineteenth century German mathematician and scientist. Among the many things named for him is the Gaussian distribution, also known as the normal distribution or the bell curve, which is very important in statistics. It also forms the basis of the gaussian_blur variation in JWildfire.
