Creating a flame pack from a folder

With the newer versions of JWildfire you can make flame packs easily by clicking the A button when you have a bunch of flames loaded. This will save them all into one file which you can load back at a later date and there you’ll have all your flames.

But what if you have a folder of flames saved and you want to combine them all into one flame pack? You could load them all into JWildfire and hit the A button, but that takes time and there’s an easier way. It takes a bit of setting up to begin with, but once done, you’ll be able to create flame packs in no time. Let’s begin.

You’ll need to download the freeware utility called txt collector here.

Txt Collector Download

Once you’ve downloaded and installed that, run the software then follow these steps.

Step 1 Add the flame extension

Click extensions and separators at the bottom.

Step 2 Edit the extensions file

We’re going to edit the file that contains the list of allowed file extensions. So open the extensions.txt file.

Step 3 Add the flame extension

Just move your cursor to the end of the list and add “flame” as shown.  You might have different text editors, but just do this and save the file and close your text editor/notepad.

Step 4 Close the software

We close the software so that next time it opens, it will have flame as a file extension.

Step 5 Open again and select flame

Open the software again, and choose flame from the drop down list.

Step 6 Click Browse Folders and choose the folder with your flames

Step 7 Tick options and click Combine all files

Make sure there’s a tick in “no separator” and “No filename” then click Combine all files.  It will then combine all your flames and then prompt you to save the new flamepack somewhere. You’re done!

It may seem complex initially, but once you’ve set the software up, you’ll only need from step 5 ie choosing flame, then choosing which folder you want to make a flamepack from.

Hope you find this useful.
